Hello to our CTSI parents, families, students and friends. I am CEO of Children’s Theatre of Southern Indiana. I am the very fortunate overseer of our production and educational programs and our online presence. Most of my time is spent in development. My heart’s delight is in spending time with our kids and teens.

For some time, I have wanted to add a blog to our website. In addition to the situations that pop up in our weekly work, there are many topics I would like to discuss. I’d like to share my insights about raising creative children, helping them deal with anxiety and peer pressure, and why I feel it’s important to add training to their education. I would like to reflect on the experiences we share in putting productions together from auditions to rehearsals and performances. You can expect a few blogs to be dedicated to setting goals such as higher education and careers in the arts.

I hope that you will comment and email if you find a topic interesting. My opinions may not always be in line with yours and that is all the more reason to put them out there, so that we can discuss what that contrast reveals. Please ask questions and feel free to suggest topics.

My work as a performer and a performing arts educator has spanned forty years. I am dedicated to helping kids and teens be more engaged, empathetic, open, honest and confident. Through their creativity they learn to navigate their emotions, anxieties and fears, understanding how to manage their own ego and sense of pride. I’d also like to help their families understand what inspires them and what calls them.
